Dan Harrington has over 25 years’ experience in Real Estate Fund Management, and Capital Markets with over $4 billion in direct investments across all asset classes. In 2010 Mr. Harrington created Brantwood Capital Partners to combine his diverse experiences to selectively invest in distressed debt and well located value-added real estate positions with a focus on residential and hospitality projects.
Prior to founding Brantwood, Mr. Harrington was a Partner at The Patriot Group (2005 to 2010) in Darien, CT, the management company of a $600 million credit opportunity investment fund that invested in a wide range of corporate, asset based structured debt and real estate. As head of the Real Estate Division, he was accountable for the investment and asset management of the funds real estate debt and equity investments, as well as a member of the Credit Committee and one of the funds four Board Members. Mr. Harrington joined Patriot from CapitalSource Finance (NYSE: CSE - 2002 to 2005), where he was a Director and a senior members of their real estate division. While at CapitalSource he focused on providing real estate debt financing in the form of mezzanine and structured senior bridge loans throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. Prior to joining CapitalSource, Mr. Harrington held senior executive positions in the real estate divisions of Lehman Brothers and Nomura Asset Capital Corporation (1995 to 2002) where he focused on the origination of over $2.5 billion of fixed and floating rate structured debt. During the early 1990's, he was one of the original members of the J.E. Robert team of acquisition/due diligence professionals that partnered with Goldman Sachs' Whitehall Fund to acquire bulk loan portfolios. In this position, he led teams that acquired loan pools from the RTC, FDIC and various commercial lending institutions. He has also worked in the real estate consulting division of KPMG Peat Marwick and at VMS Realty Partnership in the late 1980’s.
Mr. Harrington is a graduate of Northeastern University (B.S. in Business) and Florida International University (M.S. in Hospitality Real Estate) and lives in Rye NY with his wife and two children.
